How to add an AI assistant to your website in 30 seconds

Paste your URL, check a few answers, copy one line of code. A step-by-step guide that works on WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix or any HTML site.

You don't need a developer, a plugin or a long setup call. Here's the whole process, start to finish.

1. Paste your website

Sign up and paste your website address. BusinessLyft reads your homepage, organises it into a knowledge base and your assistant is ready to answer in seconds. Then run a full scan to learn the rest of your site: it follows your sitemap and links, and takes a few minutes in the background.

You can add more whenever you like: PDFs, Word documents, FAQs or plain text.

2. Test it in the Playground

Open the Playground and ask the questions your customers ask. Every answer shows the sources it used and the steps it took, so you can see exactly why it said what it said. If something's missing, add it to the knowledge base and ask again.

3. Make it look like yours

In Appearance, set your brand colour, font, corner radius, avatar, launcher and welcome message. The preview updates as you go.

4. Copy one line of code

Open Install and copy your snippet. It looks like this:

<script src="https://businesslyft.com/loader.js" data-bot="bl_pk_…" async></script>

Paste it just before the closing </body> tag of your site:

  • WordPress: use a header and footer plugin, or your theme's footer settings.
  • Shopify: Online Store → Themes → Edit code, then add it to theme.liquid before </body>.
  • Webflow: Site settings → Custom code → Footer code.
  • Wix: Settings → Custom code, placed at the end of the body on all pages.
  • Any other site: add it to your HTML template.

5. Lock it to your domain

Back in Install, add the domains your site uses (with and without www). Your assistant will only run there, so nobody else can use it, or your message allowance, on their site.

That's it. Your assistant is live, answering visitors and collecting leads around the clock.
